All Smiles!!!

Playtime with Asa- Full tummy makes a happy baby :) Asa is finally making the adjustment to the 12 hour time change from America to Asia. It took about a week, but he is slowly getting on a great routine of eating, playing, and then sleeping throughout the day. He's doing much better at night as well. Mom actually got 6 hours of sleep last night! A few days ago Mom and Dad had to start Asa on "baby boot camp" because he had not learned to fall asleep outside of someone's arms (that's the "benefit" of living with Grandparents for 6 weeks!). After about 48 hours of boot camp (i.e., crying in his crib with only pats on his tummy at short intervals), he is becoming a champ at falling asleep alone in his crib. And now Mommy and Daddy can get things done during the day too!

Back in the saddle again...

Well after almost 24 hours of flights and layovers, we arrived back home on "our" Monday afternoon. I have to say that Asa was the poster child for traveling. He did extremely well on all three flights. God definitely answered our prayers on that one!
We are getting settled in and trying to get Asa used to his new surroundings. He asked me today why we looked so different from everybody else around here. He's been thrown for a loop with his schedule, so we are having to trust that the 1 day for every 1 hour difference theory is the most it's going to take for him to adjust fully and get back on track. He's been battling a sinus cold for about 2 weeks, so we are ready for him to finally shake it.
It's good to be back and we look forward to updating you periodically on what's going on over here us. Take care!

It's not how old you are, but how young you feel!

Today our families got together to celebrate my 29th birthday. We had our last family photo shoots before we head back to East Asia on Saturday. For some reason getting everybody together and taking a picture was more difficult than I remembered in years past :). -Chad
