Yesterday morning, Papa, my grandfather (Emmett R. Bishop) pasted away at the age of 88. He was an incredible man of God and was the most gentle and humble man I have ever met. I learned so much from him about what a true servant of Christ looks like, as I watched him throughout the years. He loved my grandmother with all of his heart. Their marriage was something to behold.
We were very fortunate to be home in the states to have Asa and for my grandfather to see his sixth great-grandchild born. We thank the Lord that we were able to have that time to spend with Papa so that he could meet Asa.
Papa is a man that I desire to pattern my life after and can only hope to be half the man he was. I loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed. Thankfully, he is now reaping the reward for his faithful service to our Savior and King. See you soon Papa!

Asa did great on his first ever hiking trip. We went out of the city this past weekend and got up in the mountains and breathed some good clean fresh air for a change. Asa was a trooper all weekend long and enjoyed taking in all of the sights, when he was awake that is.

Asa has been a blast these past couple of weeks as he is learning so much and interacting a lot more. He smiles all of the time and is beginning to grasp and hold on to things. He's a squirmy thing, never wanting to sit still. Not sure who he takes after for that :) . From a sitting position, he has learned that he can lean forward to pull himself up, but he can't lean back once he is forward. It's pretty funny to watch him and listen to him grunt as he struggles to sit back upright. He's a lot of fun!
Well Asa is having no trouble dealing with the cultural and language barriers. He has learned that babbling and cooing is a universal language and he can communicate just fine with his new friends. He really has taken to the locals and loves to be held by them.
