Ellie had her first photo shoot yesterday. We had a friend of ours come over and take pictures of Ellie and Asa. Ellie was great throughout the entire shoot. Asa even cooperated (with the help of a lollipop as a bribe). You can click on the slide show on the right to see the pictures in larger scale. (if interested, we will be posting more information about Jen's photography business soon)
We have survived the first two weeks pretty well. Shift one is coming to an end. Jess' mom is leaving tomorrow after given us tremendous help for two weeks. My mom arrived yesterday to begin shift two. She will be here a week and then we will implement a man-on-man defense from there on out. It should be fun! We are very appreciative to both our families for their help throughout the last two weeks.

What a birthday present!
We were able to come home today on my birthday :) We are now beginning to adjust to this new stage of life. Luckily, Jessica's mom ("Nonna" as Asa calls her) is here for a while to help us settle back in. She will be a big help since the Spring semester started last week for me and I will be gone to classes during the days. It has been so far so good with Asa adjusting to his new little sister. He wants to hold her a lot and enjoys talking to her. I think he's going to be a great big brother!

Ellie Caitlyn Middlebrooks
She has finally arrived after much anticipation. Ellie was born this morning at 12:58am. Jessica was amazing! God was so gracious throughout the entire process from the nurses we had to the smooth delivery Jess had. Ellie weighs 6lbs., 13oz., and is 20 inches long. Every good and perfect gift truly is from the Lord!
